SUMMARY: POWDER MOUNTAIN is the best kept secret in the ski industry! It has the largest skiable acreage in North America - 5,500 acres - from the serene to the extreme! All four of my children voted it one of their very favorite ski areas.
POWDER MOUNTAIN is the best kept secret in the ski industry! It has the largest skiable acreage in North America - 5,500 acres - from the serene to the extreme! It has a wide variety of runs, a tremendous amount of backcountry skiing and virtually no lines. Best of all, POWDER MOUNTAIN has a friendly, family atmosphere. Started by local residents, POWDER MOUNTAIN is designed with skiers in mind. You can ski all day there without skiing the same slopes, and with snowmobile, caterpillar and helicopter access, it's easy to get into the backcountry. In fact, one of the highlights was using a snowmobile tow to get to some great backcountry skiing. The pace is laid back, without the struggling and pushing of most of the big destination resorts. Furthermore, POWDER MOUNTAIN has some of the best snow in North America. We stayed in the condominiums, which were located near the top of the main mountain, and could ski in and out of our lodging with ease.
Once you discover POWDER MOUNTAIN, however, it could be hard to imagine going someplace else. All four of my children voted it one of their very favorite ski areas.
